I am using Outlook 2013 and wanted to create a fresh newly separated PST file,  which should contains only contacts and calendars. Because I need to export the contents of the non-mail folders to a .pst file to move them to a a new profile. I can’t backup the .ost and easily recover the appointments and contacts from it. So for that I need to export the folders on a regular basis to back them up.

Yes you can create a separate PST file or you can call it Local pst file for saving Contacts and Calendars in it.
    A. Create a local pst file:
    1. Go to File, Account Settings, Data Files tab
    2. Add a new data file
    3. Click Add, type in a name for the pst file
    4. Set it as Default data file
    5. Set the data file as default
    6. Close Outlook and reopen it

    B. Move Contents from the ‘(This Computer only)’ folder to the folder in the *.pst file:
    1. Switch to the Calendar (This Computer only) folder
    2. Go to the View tab, select Change View
    3. List views
    4. Switch to a List view
    5. Select All and move or drag the appointments to the new calendar folder
    6. Repeat the steps above for Contacts, Tasks, and Notes if you have contents in those folders.

    C. Remove the (This Computer only) folders from the IMAP data file
    1. Close Outlook.
    2. Open Windows Explorer, type %localappdata%\microsoft\outlook in the address bar
    3. Delete the IMAP ost file
    4. Restart Outlook
Now your local PST file is created where you can save your calendars and contacts.

    Dear Lincoln

I tried to do so but When ever tries to create a new .pst file I gets the following error:

File access is denied. You do not have the permission required to access the file C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\test.pst

I tries to create the .pst by going to File >> Account Settings >> Data Files tab
    >> Add a new data file >> Add >> type in a name for the pst file >> Error
    .

    Dear Kerry
Do you have local administrative rights of that computer?

    Hello Lincon,
Yes, I have the local administrative rights. This just started happening recently. Previously I was able to create the .pst files.

    Dear Kerry,
Please check the Antivirus Setting of your PC. If it is repeating the same error then try to Recover your PST file using Inbox Repair Tools (Scanpst.exe) and if the Error doesn’t resolve then you can use a 3rd Party software i.e. SysTools Outlook Recovery to fix the PST file.

    Dear Kerry,

If the above method didn’t work then you can Choose a 3rd Party Tool i.e. SysTools vCard Importer because vCard Importer provides you three options:
    1. Save in existing MS Outlook PST file
    2. Save directly into MS Outlook profile
    3. Create new MS Outlook PST file
