How to Clear Web Browser’s Cache, History, and Cookie?

 

Caches, cookies, and History of web browsers enable the user to access previously visited websites in a quick manner. However, in case the user needs to keep this information private and wants to hide it from others, deletion of all such details is necessary. In most of the web browsers, combination of Ctrl + Shift +Delete opens the menu for deleting the cache, cookies and history.

In case this does not work for you, you can refer to the below sections for deleting such data from your Mobile as well as Desktop browsers.


 

Deleting Browser Data from Desktop Browsers

 

In this section, we will only focus on the methods to delete web browser’s cache, cookies, and history from variant desktop browsers.

 

For Google Chrome

 

1.In the browse, enter following command:

     Chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
 

2. Mark the following parameters from the list

     -Browsing History
     -Download History
     -Cookies and other site and plug-in data
     -Cached images and files

3. In the Obliterate the following items from option, select the time period from the drop down menu for which you want to delete the entire information. If you want to delete the entire information, select the beginning of time option.

4. Click on Clear browsing data option to clear the data.

5. Close the browser and open it again.

 

 


For Mozilla Firefox

 

1. Open Mozilla Firefox and select History option from the top bar.Note: If History is not visible, click on Alt to make it visible.

2. From the drop-down menu, select Clear Browsing Data option.

3. Select the items that you want to delete.

4. In the Time Range to clear option, select the time period for which you want to delete the browsing information.

For Internet Explorer

 

1. Select Safety option from the toolbar.

2. From the drop down menu, select Delete Browsing History option.

For Opera

 

1. Select Menu option from the toolbar.

In Safari 7 & Below Versions

 

        1. In Safari menu, select Reset Safari option.

        2. In the Reset Safari dialog box, select all the items that you want to reset.

-In Safari 8

 

        1. Click on the Safari menu.
 

        2. From the drop-down menu, select Clear History and Website Data option.

Deleting Browser Data from Mobile Browsers

 

  • For Android
  1. Go to Settings option.
  2. Select Apps or Application Manager option.
  3. Move to All tab and browse to your web browser.
  4. Select and click on your web browser.
  5. Select Clear Data and Clear Cache option.

 

  • For Chrome In Android

In case Chrome is the default browser in your Android, follow the below-mentioned steps:

  1. Click on Chrome menu.
  2. From the drop down menu, select Settings option.
  3. Click on Privacy option under Advanced section.
  4. Select Clear Browsing Data option.

 

 

  • For Safari in Apple iOS
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Select Safari.
  3. Select Clear History and Website Data option.
  4. Click on Confirm.
