Outlook crashed during a Windows update and now it says errors have been detected in the OST file. It will not open at all. ScanPST ran for an hour and failed at phase 7. My Exchange admin says the server copy is incomplete for the last month. What now?

To be clear I care about the last month of local mail that never made it to the server.
ScanPST is built for PST files and chokes on larger or badly damaged OST files, so that failure is expected.
1
Copy the OST somewhere safe first. It lives at
C:\Users\[you]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\.2
Run SysTools OST Recovery on the copy. It reads corrupt OST files directly and exports to a working PST.

Import that PST into Outlook. Your unsynced month comes back with it.
Do not recreate the profile before extracting. Recreating wipes the local OST and your unsynced mail with it.
Extracted everything including the missing month. Profile rebuilt after. You saved me a very bad meeting, Edwin.
