Long time PocoMail loyalist finally forced to move since development stopped years ago. New employer is an Outlook shop.

PocoMail keeps mail in its own In and Out boxes format. What survives the trip and how?

Everything mail survives, because under the hood PocoMail's storage is friendlier than its obscurity suggests: the mailbox files in its Mail directory are mbox format wearing a .mbx extension.

1
Find the data: in PocoMail check Tools, Options for the data directory path, or look under Documents for a PocoMail folder. The Mail subfolder holds one .mbx per mailbox.
2
Copy the whole Mail folder out as your working set, leaving the original untouched.
3
Convert with an mbox capable converter, SysTools MBX Converter reads .mbx files directly and writes PST, one Outlook folder per mailbox file.
4
Attach the PST in Outlook via File, Open and Export, Open Outlook Data File and drag whatever belongs in the live account into it.

Two PocoMail particulars. Filters and scripts, its famous feature, are logic rather than data and translate to nothing in Outlook, screenshot the important ones and rebuild them as Outlook rules by hand. And the address book exports from within PocoMail as CSV via its address book window, do that export while PocoMail still runs since the on disk book format is far less standard than the mail.

All 9 mailboxes converted clean. Rebuilt my three essential filters as rules and exported the addresses in time. PocoMail retired with honors.
