Hello Experts,

When I was configuring my Gmail IMAP account with Microsoft Outlook randomly a pop-up window appeared and asking for user name and password. I checked the “Save this password in your password list” but that was not disappeared. This was very irritating for me. Is there anyone who can suggest me to resolve this issue and why it occurs?

Thanks & Regards

Hi, nnIt might be the issue of wrong Incoming/Outgoing mail server and port no. So, please cross verify: nnServer Info: nnIncoming mail server: IMAP. gmail. comnOutgoing mail server: SMTP. gmail. comnnServer Port Number: nnIncoming server (IMAP): 993 | SSLnOutgoing server (SMTP): 465 or 587 | SSLnnNow, again start synchronization and check it helps. nnLet me know if you need further assistance! nnRegardsnn

Hello Barry, nnThanks for the reply! nnI have cross verified both server info and server port number but outlook still asking for password again and again. What should I do next? nnRegards

Did you check the "Remember password" options? nnAlso, make sure that "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" option should be check. nnTo do so: Click on "More Settings" >> under "Outgoing Server" tab and verify >> click "OK". nnRegards

Yes, Barry. I checked "Remember password" option and also cross verified Outgoing server (SMTP) settings option which was already checked. But, still Outlook keeps prompting for password. Any other suggestion to fix this issue? n
