PST File Is Not a Valid PST File

Question

I have an Outlook PST file but I have never been able to open it. I received an error message that says it is not a valid PST file, but it was a backup PST file. I have tried many free utilities yet received the same message. This file is most important for me because it contains many important mails.

Does anyone know about a method and tool that can repair this file for me?

Hi Michael, nnAccording to me you need to try  Inbox Repair tool  which is a free utility provided by Microsoft to repair MS Outlook PST file. Hi, nnThanks for your reply Eddie, but when I use Scanpst. exe then I will face a new error message "the inbox repair tool does not recognize the file, no information can be recovered." Now please tell me what I can do next to resolve this. n

Hi Michael, nnIf Inbox Repair tool does not recognize the file, then I am 100% sure PST file is highly corrupted. In this situation, you need to use a third party   Outlook Recovery   tool to recover/restore/repair PST file. I hope it will be helpful for you. nnThanks & RegardsnKerry Morris

Hello Guys, nnI also faced the same error "PST file is not a valid PST file" then I tried the above utility and got perfect solution. But I have one more doubt one of my friends faced an issue with his Outlook PST data file, that is he can't open PST file in Outlook due to some oversized PST file issue. Can I suggest above utility to fix his error or is there any other direct utility to fix large
