Android has no native MSG support, so you need a reader.

Free MSG viewer apps on the Play Store open .msg attachments directly with headers and attachments shown. Search for MSG viewer and pick one with good reviews and no heavy permissions.

Occasional need, no app wanted: ask senders to forward as .eml or as forwarded body text, both of which Android mail apps read natively.

On a PC later, a standalone MSG viewer batch-opens a whole folder of them.
Installed a lightweight MSG viewer app. Reads forwarded .msg files on the go now. Solved.
