I want to view exchange 2010 mailbox emails of a user, suddenly it’s been really important for me. But I have deleted that user’s mailbox 3 years ago and Active Directory and mailbox have been deleted several times since then. Now the latest version of Exchange server (2016) is being used in office. I am getting pressure from my seniors but I don’t know what I should do to get back that user data.

I have searched a lot about this problem on Google and read many blogs and forums. Some are saying that use this tool to convert ost file into pst and some say use that tool to recover deleted mails from ost but none of those ideas and tools really worked for me. So, finally I am writing this post in search of a solution to get deleted ost mailbox data back.

Hi Lincon can you tell me that do you have any backup of exchange server database edb file. If you have backup then you can get all user mailboxes easily.

Can you tell me exactly how many times Active Directory and Mailbox have been deleted?

Firstly Exchange server 2010 was installed, at that time Active Directory & Mailbox had been deleted two times. At upgrade time Exchange Server 2010 to 2013 Active directory had again deleted and since that time Active directory is deleted again during Exchange Server upgrade from 2013 to 2016.

    Wow That’s great.
Now, First of all create a copy of all OST files and try to open it in Outlook in the same version in which it has created and Never connect this outlook with internet or any server.

You have to have the password to open OST file. Hunt for it and try to contact the person to get passwords. I think you will get something.

    Hi Dexter,
I got some user’s password after a lot of search but still i am unable to open OST file.

Outlook is not having any option to import or open ost file.

    Okk I got your point.

You can use freeware tool to Open OST File and view emails and other items.

I think it can help you to get user’s data.
