    Hello all,

I basically use MS Outlook for my business purpose hence I used to receive about more than thousand messages everyday, due to which my PST file become very large sometimes. The problem is that each time my PST file crosses its limits, I have to archive that PST file and if I ever forget to archive my PST file, I’ve to experience performance issue while accessing emails in Outlook. So I want to ask that, Is that any way to split the PST file by archiving them not to some months but to year?

    Hi Henry,

In Outlook, Archive is the feature by which you can split the large sized PST file by moving the old PST items (that are no longer used) into archive folder. You can AutoArchive or Manual Archive the unused PST file into archive folder but to save the time of archiving PST file each time it crosses its limits, you can split the PST file by using yearly archive feature. Follow the below shown steps to do that:

Start your MS Outlook >> click on File.
Click on Cleanup Tools >> click on Archive.
Check the box to select Archive this folder and all sub folders.
Locate to Archive items older than and set the date >= one year back from the Received date.
Select the option Include items with “Do not Auto Archive” checked.
Click on Browse and provide the location to save the archived PST file.
Click on OK to save archive settings.

Split Outlook PST File using yaerly Archive
