The error indicates that the NSF Files used by Lotus Notes is corrupted or might be damaged.

Is there any specific reason for corruption of file that I must be aware of?

You can use a third party software “SysTools Export Notes” to convert NSF to PST file and use the respective file in Outlook.

You can also try to resole this issue using Fix up Command Line Tool.
    use Fixup-i-mail/xxx.nsf
This will discover all the files in databse
run compact i-c-d-k a compact tool
    load the compact-c-i mail/xxx.nsf
    Run updall-R
You can use this file in another system.
