I am a usual user of Outlook and my files are of password protected. Suddenly I faced some issues with my files. At first, while I am opening the file, the files were opened with certain symbols. And later on, I couldn’t even open it. Can anybody please help me out to recover Outlook files.

Hi, Mr.Henry think your file is corrupted and I must say that it is highly corrupted. Normally there are several methods to recover Outlook files. But I don’t think it will get you the result. You can try to convert the file if you really wished to recover.

Thank-you for your suggestion. But currently, I am not interested to convert Outlook files. Can anyone else give me a better suggestion?

Hi, I don’t know in which way you wished to recover Outlook files. Anyway, I would like to show a manual procedure which is discussed below:

    1. Currently, stop running your Outlook
    2. Now search for “scanpst.exe” in your system
    3. Run the tool scanpst.exe and hit on repair.

Note: Don’t forget to keep a backup of your Outlook File, before repairing.

    4. Now click “Start” button >> “Run”
    5. Enter CMD and hit the enter button.
    6. Place the path of PST File into the command prompt.
    7. Here a copy of PST called “youfilename.psx” is created
    8. After the completion of this process, rename the original PST File as old PST File.
    9. Now, enter “pst19upg.exe-newfilename.psx” and press enter.
    10. This will helps you out to create a password-free Outlook file
    11. Launch “Scanpst.exe” and repair the currently created files.
    12. Finally, click and Open Microsoft Outlook and verify Outlook Data File.

Hope it will work for you.

I must say that Mr.D have provided the inappropriate manual procedure. The “pst19upg.exe” approach will only work for the Outlook 2002 version. It will only work for the ANSI PST files, not for Unicode PST files. Therefore, to get the better results you must opt another manual procedure which will really helpful to recover password protected Outlook file for your 2010 version.

There are wide varieties of automated methods available in the market but to choose the better one is really hard. So I would like to suggest a best approachable utility which will really help to recover corrupted Outlook files even if the Outlook files are affected in its minor way or major. The utility is simple and efficient to use and that is SysTools Outlook Recovery.

Hope you will get an accurate result.
