It would be very helpful if you would describe the complete steps. As I don’t have much technical knowledge of Adobe Acrobat. So, can you please describe the steps briefly.

No, need to worry if you don’t have much technical knowledge. Follow below steps to add bates stamp to PDF documents-

    • Open PDF document in Adobe Acrobat
    • Click on Document, select “header & footer” and “Add“ options. Then, a dialogue box “The header and footer” will appear
    • Select font style and font size from the “Font” and “Size” drop-down box
    • Click on the Underline button or press Ctrl + U to underline the page number
    • Navigate towards ‘Color’ button to select a predefined color or create a custom color for the color of the page number
    • In next, select the margin in inches for defining the header & footer from the Top, Bottom, Left, Right combo boxes
    • Click on the Appearance options & select ‘Shrink documents to avoid overwriting the document’s text and graphics’(This will prevent header & footer overlapping with the document text)
    • Select the “Keep position and size of header or footer text constant when printing on different page sizes”
    • When PDF file is enlarged then this option will prevent headers and footers from being re-sized
Go to header & footer text box and click on the ‘Insert Page Number’
    • From the “Page Number Format” drop-down box, select “Page Number & Date Format”. Click OK
    • Hit the “Page range options” and click OK. Then, choose “Save settings” and type a name for the settings and save this which is applied to others PDF file
    • Finally, hit OK button and add the header/footer to the PDF documents.

Thanks, for describing the steps but, I don’t have the full version of Adobe Acrobat. Due to which I am unable to follow these steps. Moreover, I find this approach lengthy and time consuming too. So, can you please suggest any simple solution to add bates stamp to PDF documents?.

Yes, I can understand these steps are lengthy and time-consuming. However, I also have the same issue as yours. So, one day I came to know about the PDF Page Numbering tool. I used this application for numbering PDF files. Must say this tool is very efficient. Also, on the basis of the good review, I would like to suggest this utility to everyone who wants to add bates stamp to PDF documents.
