I am using MS Outlook 2010. Since yesterday, it has stopped working properly not even receiving message from server. A pop up window keeps on appearing showing that it has reached maximum size limit so I have to delete some items permanently but it don’t let me do so. I am so confused, can you suggest me any solution.
Hello Henry,
Deleting unwanted emails is a good practice and put impact on your entire data’s size but not at an extent volume. Even, after deleting unwanted emails, white spaces persist in the PST File.
So, along with deleting emails, use compact feature to eliminate these white spaces in MS Outlook.
To do so:
Open “MS Outlook” >> “File” tab >> “Account Settings” >> “Account Settings” >> “Data File” >> Click twice on PST File >> Click on “Compact Now”
Feel free to ask further!!!
Thanks & Regards
Michael ScofieldThanks for the reply Michael, though I have tried your suggested method of compacting PST file but it didn’t made much difference. The size of the PST file is still large, can you suggest me some other effective alternative.
Thanks & Regards,
Henry DavidsonGive a try to Archiving feature, it is often deemed that this feature moves old emails to the other PST file and subsequently the size of the default Outlook PST file gets diminished.

To be frank, your question seems mind-boggling and I have a suspicion that this all is happening because of some sort of corruption or bug which is impeding you to access your Outlook Data File. If there is something like that, you are going to run into a big trouble.
Well, waiting for your reply so I could exactly determine the actual cause of the glitch.
Thanks & Regards
Michael ScofieldWell I have tried this archiving feature as well but I guess it didn’t worked in my case. I am not much a technical person so its getting hard for me to figure out the actual issue. As you have said about some corruption, I guess this is what I am facing currently. I did Google search about my current situation and I found many people suffering the similar trouble but didn’t get the appropriate solution for it.
So, if you could enlighten me about it further then it would be a great help. Thanks

I guess Micheal’s perception is correct about corruption and all that. Something horrible going on with your PST file or it’s elements has been deteriorated somehow. You should repair it expeditiously. Run scanpst or AKA Inbox Repair Tool.
Once you are done with it, please let me know whether you get the results or not.
Cheers!!!
BarryWell, I did have tried Inbox repair tool to repair the PST file but seems like even its no working. I am in urgent need of accessing my Outlook mailbox. It has some really important information that I will be requiring in the coming days. So, please suggest me what should I do.
Regards,
Kerry MorrisThe PST file has severely damaged and perhaps this is the reason that you are not able to access your data. Go and try some third party utility to overhaul the PST file corruption.
Cheers
Barry AllenThanks for solving the issue!!!!
