    Hello,

I got some old and orphan MBOX files in my computer. These files were kept as a backup on my PC. But I have no idea how to read MBOX files on PC. Can anyone suggest me any method to open and view all the emails from these MBOX files? It is very important for me to get all these emails on my machine.

    Hi,

Do you have Mozilla Thunderbird installed on your system? It is a free application through which you can access all your MBOX files.

I don’t have Thunderbird on my system. But as you said the file can be opened with this email application, so I have downloaded the application. I tried to open the file but I am unable to open it. Please suggest any method to do so.

OK, then download ImportExport add-on and follow below steps:

    1. Open Mozilla Thunderbird and click on Tools.
    2. Select Import/Export Tools >> Import MBOX file.
    3. In Files MBOX Import window, select Import directly one or more MBOX files.
    4. Click on OK.
    5. To move MBOX file with all subdirectories, select Import one or more MBOX files with its subdirectory option and then, click on OK.
    6. Browse MBOX files from the location.
    7. Click on Open button to import orphan MBOX files to Thunderbird.

Ok, then set up an account on Thunderbird. Now, and search local folders directory in the application. Now, simply drag and drop the MBOX file in that folder. Now, you will see that all the emails from MBOX file will be moved to that folder. Then, you will be able to read MBOX files on PC.

I have tried this method also. But this approach is not working on a bulk number of MBOX files. Can you please suggest any simple and effective approach as it is really important to access all that data in those MBOX files.

You can use Free SysTools MBOX Viewer Tool to read MBOX files on PC. It helps you to open, explore, read and view MBOX mail. It will save your time and efforts and show all the data easily.
