    Firstly, I would like to know why are you looking for scanpst.exe alternative?

    Inbox repair tool or scanpst.exe is enough to fix Outlook mailbox errors.

    Any specific reason please mention.

    Hello Henry Davidson,

    I tried running scanpst.exe to repair my heavily corrupted Outlook mailbox (with attachments), but I failed.

    By this reason, I am looking for a best scanpst.exe alternative.

    Hi,

    I’ve seen that sometimes scanpst.exe or inbox repair tool doesn’t fix the heavily corrupted Outlook mailbox. Moreover, if the Outlook data file is 2GB or more and with attachments, it’s become useless to recover data files.

    Hi,

    Can I remove restriction from protected Outlook PST file?

    I don’t remember my assign password.

    Please provide the best solution.

    Hello Barry,

    You can use a manual approach to remove restriction from PST file in Outlook.

    Open MS Outlook and follow the steps:

    1. Go to File → Account Settings → Account Settings

    2. In Account Settings → Data File → Select File (.pst) → Settings

    3. In next wizard, click on Change Password button

    4. Set new password then click OK

    5. Open Outlook and access Mailbox without any restriction.

    One more concern (just for knowledge) is there any tool is also available to decrypt fully secured PST file from MS Outlook.
