    Hi everyone,

I’m using multiple email provider (Gmail, Yahoo, and some other domain.com) to access emails, all using MS Outlook. However, I’ve already configured Gmail and other domain.com account into MS Outlook (except for Yahoo) but now I want to know the steps to configure Yahoo mail into MS Outlook.

Thanks in advance for any kind of help.

    Regards,

    Henry

    Hi Henry,

As you’ve already configured Gmail with Outlook, similarly you need to follow the steps to configure Yahoo mail too. Only the difference is that while configuring Yahoo into MS Outlook, you need to use the server settings of Yahoo for both incoming/outgoing mail server.

After following those steps, if you face any inconsistency then feel free to contact for any further assistance.

    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,

I followed the same steps as I did during the Gmail configuration but this time I’m getting the error due to which I’m unable to connect to the server. I’m trying to connect my Yahoo account with POP3 configuration.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Henry

    Hi Henry,

This often happens due to the use of wrong server settings. So if you’re using the incorrect server information, you may face this problem, to correct them you need to use the following Yahoo server settings:

    For account type: POP3
    Incoming mail server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
    Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Encryption type for incoming server: You need to use SSL enabled port to connect with Yahoo account.
Port number for incoming server: 995
Encryption type for incoming server: TLS
Port number for outgoing server: 587.

    To Michael,

Thanks for the reply and for posting such a nice article! I was doing the mistakes while filling in the details (especially the port number and encryption type) under the server information, I think the SSL port for POP3 has changed from 110 to 995.

Hope the above article will help others having the same problem as me.

    Thank again!
    Henry
