Hello,
I am looking for an easy method to create the google apps for work email backup of my existing G Suite account, so that i can access all google apps backup email before delete my mails and information of the Google account. Next month i will be joining a new organisation and would be resigning from my existing company. I have a G Suite account here and i want to backup all my data that is in my G Suite account, since i don’t want to miss on the information i have in this account. Can anyone please suggest me some quick methods for google apps for work email backup for my G Suite account.
Thank you in advance.
Congratulations stephen !!! and All the very best for your new job. I can understand this is a very common problem that we all face when we leave an organisation and step into another. The data that we have in our organisational accounts may be of big help in future and it is always preferable if you create a backup of your data.
To my knowledge, there are two methods that you can use for creating Google Apps Email Backup. One is Google Takeout method which is manual and another is Third party tool. You can use any of the method as per your requirements. I am explaining both of them.Manual method is a bit complex and time consuming also if you have a specific file format conversion in your head then this method might not help.
1. U can go to the link of google takeout Google Takeout
2. Sign in using your account
3. Choose which all google Application’s data you want to backup .
4. Later you can create archives of your data and download your files in a zip format on your pc and access all the files you have backed up.Or you can simply use any of the Third party tool. There are so many third party tools and software packages that are available online that you can try for creating Google Apps Email Backup before you you move from one organisation to another.
Some of these tools are paid and you can refer any of the above methods that you find suitable.
Hope this will help you in finding your answer. If you still have any queries please feel free to post back.Thank you so much michael for your insights and wishes,
As you mentioned, I tried Google Takeout method for creating Google Apps Mailbox Backup, but this method is downloading the mail archives in a zip format on my pc but i want my email files and data( calendar, contacts and everything) in MBOX format. And i have been tried searching web for this but i am in the middle of nowhere. Is there anything that u could suggest for this? Please let me know.
Thank you.Yes, Google takeout method can only backup data in a zip file format that you can extract on your local machine easily. But if you wish to to convert your emails to other formats (like PST, EML, MSG, MBOX) then you can use Third party tools since Google Takeout method does not support other file format conversions.
Also i found this article on Google Apps for work email backup. This article explains well how to back up your G Suite email data and files with steps and pictures.
