I upgraded my Outlook Express and now unable to open attachments. The paper clip icon is there but nothing appears when I clicked on it. This is not common to one email sender but on all. I unchecked the option in tools/options/security do not follow attachments to be saved or opened, as suggested via a google search but still I can’t access attachments. Whenever I tried to view attachments it says they are unsafe. If you have any solution to this then please provide it here

Any suggestion or help will be appreciated

Have you correctly checked these settings Outlook Express-> tools->options->security tab->uncheck because these settings must be Uncheck as it block images or other HTML content that could contain a virus

What happens? Is the paperclip icon greyed out? Does it give any error message when you try and launch the attachment.

No the paper clip icon isn’t greyed out. And nothing happens when I tried to open it. When I am try to save by using the Save As option, I get the error message saying the command failed to execute.

Have to check whether there is enough free disk space on your hard disk to save attachments

Yes, I checked it already when I first try to read attachment and I found there is lot of space available but still attachments won’t open.

You can do one thing right click on the attachment and save it to your desktop by double click on it. For some reason, some attachments cannot open within the email, but will open from your hard drive.

I have tried this also, but nothing really works. Can you please suggest me any alternate solution so that I can access my attachment.
