Hi, you can use check disk utility to resolve Need to format drive error. Follow the steps given below.
As you inserted an image and it shows that your hard drive is G.
1. Go to Run and type cmd.
2. Type the command chkdsk G: /r
3. If a pop appears for recover file simply proceed by selecting yes.
4. If the above command does not fix the issue, type chkdsk G: /f command.
I hope this command will fix need to format error.Hello, There are many ways to fix need to format drive error. But it is recommended that before performing any operation on it fist take backup of the disk.
Reboot the laptop and then plug in your external hard drive some time this error may be removed by just rebooting.Martin you can execute a command on cmd definitely it will help you. Follow the steps given below.
Step 1: – Go Run and type cmd and press Enter.
Step 2: – Run the command attrib -h -r -s /s /d f:\*.*
Here “f” is used as a usb drive, you can change according to you.I apologize Martin, But in my case when I am not able to see my data from USB stick then I did the same and every thing is fine. It did not work in your case, it means there is some other issue. I will try to find some other solution for this issue.
In this situation there may be a chance that any how you checked the hidden mode. Simply go to properties and uncheck the hidden mode.
Hello Martin, First tell me that when you plug-in your usb stick it shows some data or empty. As you have not mentioned it in your question.
