    hello Micheal

You can try this method also, In your Notes client, open the current location and check the Mail tab. If the “Mail file location” is set to be local then change it to “On Server” and test it again. And Check the “send outgoing mail” field also. If it states “directly to internet” then change it to “through Domino Server”

    Hi

I think this error refers to lotus Notes shared Mail. And you can resolve this error by adding the name of the server containing the web. What you need to do is either R6 or R7 Lotus Notes Domino, Open the server containing the target database and add the name of the server.

Hi Barry! is the problem still persist? if yes then the other possible reason towards this error in Outlook could be as following: if you check marked the option “Leave Message on the Server” or when people sends you multiple copy of the same message. To resolve this issue completely I’ve found one important article, click here to see: http://msoutlookworld.blogspot.in/2016/06/how-to-remove-duplicate-emails-in-outlook.html

    Hi Dexter

If you only use it with Macs you can format it easily to Mac OS Extended. But if you use it with PCs keep it FAT. Because FAT is readable by both OS X and Windows but Mac OS X extended is not.

    Hi

Thanks for your response Michael, but when I use Apple Mail application I didn’t face such issues as I use free web-mail clients with POP3 and SMTP authentication. So I don’t think is server overloaded problem.

    Hello Barry,

I am sorry for your old ost data loss.

This happened might be because OST files are encrypted with a unique key derived from the mailbox’s unique entry and also Microsoft doesn’t support changing the OST file directly.
Maybe you can try and see if you still have the profile from which the OST file was generated. If the profile still exists, then copy the ost file to that profile and try to recover the data.
This will also resolve your issue to transfer OST to Office 365 account.
Please feel free to ask if you face any further issues or any other issues related to Office 365.

    Thank you.

    Hello Barry,

Did you configure your Office 365 account in Outlook and tried to migrate your old ost file to Office 365?
Please refer these steps and check if the old ost emails can be moved to your mailbox on Office 365 successfully:
    1. Open Outlook with your old ost file and check if you are able to access emails from that old ost.
    2. Add a new Office 365 account into Outlook.

PS: Please make sure you don’t modify settings of the old account.
    Configure E-Mail in Outlook 2010

    3. Copy emails from Inbox of your old email account to folders under Office 365 mailbox from Outlook.
    4. Wait till these emails are synchronized back to Exchange Online.
    5. Remove your old email account from Outlook.

I hope this solution will easily import OST to Office 365 account.

    Thank you
    Eddie

    Hi Henry,

In Outlook, Archive is the feature by which you can split the large sized PST file by moving the old PST items (that are no longer used) into archive folder. You can AutoArchive or Manual Archive the unused PST file into archive folder but to save the time of archiving PST file each time it crosses its limits, you can split the PST file by using yearly archive feature. Follow the below shown steps to do that:

Start your MS Outlook >> click on File.
Click on Cleanup Tools >> click on Archive.
Check the box to select Archive this folder and all sub folders.
Locate to Archive items older than and set the date >= one year back from the Received date.
Select the option Include items with “Do not Auto Archive” checked.
Click on Browse and provide the location to save the archived PST file.
Click on OK to save archive settings.

Split Outlook PST File using yaerly Archive

    Hi Kerry,

After clearing the Temp folder, if the problem still persist then you need to modify your registry key in the registry editor. To do that, firstly you need to create a backup of REG key and then you need to modify the Value Data of Cache variable that contains Temporary files.

Take a guidance in a step by step manner, click here: http://msoutlookworld.blogspot.in/2016/05/outlook-could-not-create-work-file.html

    Hi Michael,

This error may occur in Outlook in the following situation:
When you move large PST data into public folders.
    When opening emails in Archive.
If the archive folders are accessed from a different location.

Solution: To fix this error, you need to use the Current Folder option. To do that, use the below steps:

Start your Outlook >> click on File
click on Option >> click on Search
Navigate to Results and select the Current Folder option
    Click on OK.

For reference, see the screen shot: Screen shot to set Current Folder Option in Outlook

    Hi Michael,

This type of problem may occur while opening Outlook due to unnecessary Temp folder. To resolve this issue, try clearing the Temp folder. To do that, do the following steps:

Click on Start >> type Run in the search box and hit the Enter key to open Run command box
Under the Run command box, type Temp and hit Enter key
Press “ctrl+A” to select all the Temp folder and press “shift+delete” to delete them permanently.

After that do the same steps to delete the %Temp% folder data.

Now try to open Outlook, hope it’ll work for you.

    Hi Henry,

As you’ve already configured Gmail with Outlook, similarly you need to follow the steps to configure Yahoo mail too. Only the difference is that while configuring Yahoo into MS Outlook, you need to use the server settings of Yahoo for both incoming/outgoing mail server.

After following those steps, if you face any inconsistency then feel free to contact for any further assistance.
