    Hi Dexter Morgan,

Earlier I faced the same situation in which I had to convert VCF to PST. So I tried some manual methods for this purpose. Please use the following procedure:

Step 1: Go to the “File” menu of MS Outlook
Step 2: Click on the option “Import & Export”–> “Import a vCard file or VCF file”–>”Next”
Step 3: Go to the location where you have store the VCF file, select that and click on “Open”
Step 4: Go to the “contacts” option to view the newly added contact details

    Thanks

    Hey,
Thank you, Eddie, for resolving my query It really works. With the help of this tool, I could easily read PST emails. But, I want to secure my emails so that they remain confidential. However, after a long search, I have found that emails can be more secure by converting them into portable document file format. Suggest me the best solution.

If the third party tool will provide a 100% result after OST to PST conversion, then definitely I will opt that case.

Hi, Lincoln I really appreciate your effort, but I must say that I am a non-technical person and this above manual solution is really hard to do. Is there any other option which will really help me to convert OST to PST with less effort.

The troubleshooting process which I have already used is:

    1] Backup .ost file
2] Rename Outlook .ost to Outlook .pst
3] Rename PST back to OST

    Hi, Dexter Morgan
As you said you have some confidential emails that have to be shown in court. However, these emails are in OST file format they can be easily converted into PDF file format by the manual approach. But, I believe the manual solution is not reliable because with this method you can only convert single emails to PDF. So, I would recommend you to opt for an automated solution to convert OST to PDF file format.

    Hi, Lincoln
There is one manual method available to export Thunderbird file to PDF file format. You can try this method:
    1. Open Thunderbird application
    2. Now right click on any of the mail you want to export.
    3. Select Print option
    4. Now from the dialog box, you can choose the PDF file format option.

But this manual method has a limitation too, you can only export single message to PDF file format.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I Agree that the method specified by sir Barry Allen is definitely for unlocking pdf file for editing.

For Unlocking PDF files for access, It is mandatory that you should go for a third party software to remove pdf protection.

As, there is no manual method available to unlock pdf files.

Hope it will resolve your query.

    Thanks & Regards

    Hello Dexter,
You can follow these steps for a manual solution which will be free to use to export Outlook Express emails to Outlook.

    (i) Install Windows Live Mail on your system.
(ii) Click on File Tab and then Import Messages.
(iii) Select Microsoft Outlook Express in Import messages dialog box, then click Next.
(iv) Select All Folders and click Next.
    (v) Now all the Outlook Express data will be imported in Windows Live Mail.
    (vi) Again follow Step 1.
(vii) Click on Export email and then select Email Messages.
(viii) An Export email window prompt appears, select Microsoft Exchange and then click Next.
(ix) A notification message will appear. Click OK.
    (x) Select all folder like Step 4.
    (xi) Click on Finish.

    Ping me for further assistance.

Yes, you can repair priv1.edb files, using an inbuilt utility called ESEUTIL of Exchange server. An ESEUTIL utility can run to check the integrity and to repair a damaged or corrupt priv1.edb file.

Note: Please take backup of your EDB file and free disk space at least Twenty percent for exchange database size to repair corrupt priv1.edb database file.

Location of EXEUTIL Utility: \EXCHSRVR\BIN directory
Location of Private file: c:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb

Follow the steps to run Eseutil.exe Tool and recover mail from priv1.edb file.

    1. First Run the Command Prompt by Start >> Run.
    2. Type “CMD” and click OK.
    3. Go to C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin directory location.
    4. You can see, various option available and command for a different function according to need. But at this moment our main focus into repair priv1.edb file

Now type “eseutil /p “D:\Mail EX\MDBDDATA\priv1.edb” to repair file.

Try this method, hope you can recover mail from priv1.edb File using above steps.

    Hi Michael,

I am also having the same doubt about the matter. My files are easily divided and Now, There are multiple files with same file sizes. Thus, the files are taking a lot of space.

Hence, I am facing a lot of storage issues.

Is there any other procedure without the storage issues.

    Please Help!!!

    Hi, Michael
I have read your query, you need to first move to .csv format then only you can convert WAB to Gmail. For transferring the contacts in .csv format you can follow these steps:
    1. Open Outlook Express
    2. Go to File, Export, Address Book
    3. Select Text File (Comma separated Value)

Hope the above method helps you!
