But, still Outlook keeps prompting for password. Any other suggestion to fix this issue?
Hi,
Let’s try this:
- Type “Default Programs” in the Windows search bar.
- Hit on “Set your default Programs”.
- A new window will open, select the browser >> click on “Set this program as default” >> Hit on “OK” button and check it works.

Hi Barry,
Make sure that Read only attribute should not be selected in your Outlook Data file.
To check, follow this path to find the location of PST file: C:\Users\admin\Documents\Outlook Files
Now, click right on PST file >> click on “Properties” >> Under General tab, check “Read-only” attribute shouldn’t be selected.
Might be your Outlook data file could be corrupted that’s why this issue is appearing. So, please try to run Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe) to repair PST file.
Let me know if you need further assistance!!!
Thanks & Regards

Another way is set registry key to disable Safe mode.
To set the registry Key:
• Press “Start” Key + “R” (Combine) >> Type “regedit” in the run dialog box >> click on “OK” button.
• Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security\
• Right click on Security key and choose New, and then DWORD Value.
• Type DisableSafeMode, and then press Enter.
• Right-click on DisableSafeMode, and then click Modify.
• In the Value data box, type 1, and then click “OK”.
• Restart MS Outlook.Get more info, click here: http://www.msoutlookware.com/error/outlook-only-starts-in-safe-mode.html

I tried 2 & 3 point. First, I disabled Antivirus program and then run Inbox Repair tool to repair my PST file. After doing this, the Outlook error 0x800ccc0f message disappeared.
Thanks again 🙂

In MS Outlook this issue comes due to a new December update KB3114409. Just uninstall this add-in to fix the issue. I hope it will work for you.Hi,
Which process did you try to in order to fix this issue? I suggest you to backup OST file and delete it. After that recreate the account and let Exchange sync itself. See if it fixes the issue.
I hope it will be helpful for you.

Michael ScofieldHi,
If you are working on Microsoft Outlook from a long time, then might be your Outlook Data file is quite large that’s why Outlook taking time at startup. If you have huge PST File, then compress your Outlook Data File.
To do so: Open ‘Outlook’ >> ‘File’ >> ‘Account Settings’ >> ‘Account Settings’ >> ‘Data File’ tab >> Click twice on Outlook account >> click on ‘Compact Now’.
Thanks & Regards
Michael ScofieldI agreed with “Eddie”.Instead of that, you can also create a new user profile in MS Outlook to fix this issue.
See here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/829918
Even after creating a new user profile, if the problem remains same, then reset the navigation pane.To do so: Press “Window Key” + “R” >>Type “outlook.exe<space>/resetnavpane” in run dialog box.

Hello Barry,
Try to open Outlook in safe mode because undeniably plug-ins always be the utmost reason of Outlook’s dysfunctioning. Try out the given command in the run box:
“outlook.exe /safemode”
Question further, if you do not get any solution.
Cheers
MichaelHi,
The above solution worked like a treat.
Thank you so much Barry for suggesting me this wonderful PST Merge Software. By using this tool, I easily combine multiple PST Files into one PST. I had also some duplicates in Outlook Data file, but when I was merging PST File by using this software, it also removed all duplicates in my Outlook PST File. Now, finally I have got my solution.
Again thanks for the help… 🙂

Michael ScofieldHi Eddie,
Thanks for responding, this process is effective when we create a new PST file by combining two or three PST files. However, when we combine 10 or more PST files then this manual solution is highly time-consuming and quite annoying. So if you know any other solution to do this task, please update me.October 9, 2015 at 10:59 am in reply to: Outlook Incoming Mails Disappear automatically #824 Score: 0Hi Barry,
Will you please tell me if this happened for all emails or with a specific sender’s mails?
Thanks & Regards
Michael ScofieldHi,
